When bad things happen to good dogs
Vinci had been a puppy tossed on the street. Wasn’t that enough hardship in one dog’s life?
No, because more trauma would find Vinci. He had lived with Betsy and Ann for two years when one night Betsy heard him whimper.
The
next morning, Vinci was very wobbly on his feet and whining in pain.
Betsy took Vinci to the veterinarian, who referred him to a specialty clinic for
an MRI.
The test showed Vinci had a rupture in his spine. He needed emergency surgery.
Vinci
spine was repaired but the surgeon couldn’t guarantee Vinci would walk again.
These things aren’t certain, the doctor said. They would have to wait and see.
Vinci stayed in doggie ICU for five days. He was sad and listless when Betsy came to visit. It made her heartsick.
What would happen to this little dog now?
